“This is a truly amazing osteria!!”
Definitely worth a visit! Amazing food at reasonable prices! I had my best meal in Venice there (spaghetti nero with shrimps)! I will never forget it! 🙂 Buzzing atmosphere with great service. If you are in venice, looking for somewhere to have a nice meal in a decent price, give Osteria Mocenigo. You will not go wrong.. 🙂
“Another little restaurant you don’t want to miss”
If you’re not careful, you’ll walk right past this little jewel. A menu of main course, beverage (we had 1/4 liter wine each) and an espresso for only 12 Euros!

“Best meal in Venice ”
Visited here on our last night in Venice. We had stumbled upon it a few days earlier while (lost) walking the streets and decided to head back. The restaurant is small and appeared to be filled with a number of locals. Despite not having a reservation, they made room for us. The rest of the meal was delicious. We had wine, bread, and caprese salad to start followed by two delicious mains (ravioli with spinich and spaghetti in boscura sauce). Everything was wonderful (including the service). Would definitely recommend making reservations as we truly just got lucky that they could seat us. Menus are handwritten and atmosphere is really authentic. No ones standing outside the door trying to persuade you to come in. Would definitely come back if I found myself in Venice again.
“Fabulous restaurant ”
This was a Trip Advisor inspired visit to a restaurant 20 metres from our hotel. Everything about it was great. The stylish owner, the ambience, our lovely waitress, the enticing menu and the perfectly cooked food. Worth coming to Venice for this evening alone.

This is a place to go if you like seafood. Sadly, I am allergic to seafood and opted for meat version of the menu: beef carpaccio on a pile of rocket salad with stripes of parmesan cheese was to die for. And then the venison stake arrived in a lovely sauce with baked potatoes as a side dish. I was complaining about the amount of food not being used to such portions but equally I just couldn’t stop eating. I think you will enjoy whatever you order, the restaurant is simply one of the best in Venice. Oh and the staff is super nice.

“What a delight”
Watching the staff in a busy restaurant is like a dance. In a great restaurant, it’s a ballet. Osteitis Mocenigo is the latter. Just two staff and they worked hard. My waitress coped with at least three languages, was cheerful and humble. The food was really enjoyable. It had been recommended to me by a local and he was so right. Easy to find, just along from the San Stae vaporetto stop.

“Great local restaurant”
Ate here at the recommendation of our guest house team at CimaRosa. Simply excellent food in a family run restaurant. We had the mixed fish antipasto with a selection of Venetian specialties including the rather prehistoric looking langoustine type shellfish which seems to be a local favorite. These were excellent. I dithered over what to have as a primi course and was advised to have the fish soup special. Great choice, stunning depth of flavour with a whole host of seafood. For my main I stuck to fish at the recommendation of the waitress and was rewarded with simply the best fritto misto I’ve ever had. Very reasonable bill with beer and wine and a tip coming to 100 euro for two. Word of advice though, if you want to go, make sure you book!
“Great food in Venice”
The host from our B&B recommended this Osteria to us. It was just around the corner from our lovely boutique B&B CimaRosa. And truly this Osteria offers delicious italian food for very reasonable prices. The staff is very charming, relaxed and multi lingual. What a great find in an tourist flooded and high priced city like Venice! The freshly prepared food (pulpo, homemade lasagne, mixed seafood platter of the day) could not be better. That is the reason why this Osteria is even in December every evening fully packed with locals and tourists. Molto simpatico!
